Smoothies and grilled cheese

Grilled Cheese
Last week we made grilled cheese. I made the best grilled cheese in the class I think personally. I put two pieces of cheese on mine and it was super cheesy. The cheese was very overwhelming I had a hard time eating it. I can't eat the crust because its too hard and I hate crunchy things.

When I first started I thought I was going to burn the grilled cheese. I've never made a grilled cheese that turned out good so I was surprised when I finished it and it wasn't burned. I ate it in about three bites and about choked to death with every bite.

So we made smoothies and mine was more of a slushy. I put three cups of ice when it called for 1 so it was a little too chunky. Besides it being super chunchy it had really good taste and I really enjoyed it. I didn't know how to work the blender at first and so it was really hard to work with but I eventually got it to work. I have no idea how much strawberry I put in because I was just guessing but it seemed to be the right amount because it tasted pretty good.

I didn't chop up the banana and so it was super thick. I don't know how I made it that good but I guess it worked. I worked alone to make my smoothy and I did pretty well for myself. I make the best smoothies so I'm basically a chef .

This past week we have been making different kinds of breakfast items. We started by making French toast which tasted good, it took a very short amount of time to make all of it which was convineant. The French toasted was propably the best thing that we made in Pro Start this week. I ended up having 6 pieces of french toast by myself and I enjoyed every single piece. We didn't use measuring cups or anything we kinda guessed and hoped for the best.

We also made pancakes that weirdly tasted like fish. Don't get me wrong I ate seven pancakes at once and I finished them. The pancakes were really dry so I believe that we could have possibly put more milk in it to make it less dry. I would suggest we use different mix next time since it tasted bad. We basically just added everything that we needed to directly into one pan when we usually have a specific order that we put the ingridence into but we didn't that day.

We made hashbrowns, I thought that making hashbrowns wasn't that hard but I was very wrong. When making them they wouldn't cook properly on one side which meant I had to keep it in there longer and I forgot to check them and they turned black on one side. I then flipped them and it fell apart into the oil and then everything burned. I felt like it was a wreck and it turned out very gross and not very visually appealing.

38-7 tacos

Keaton and I made tacos. These tacos were the best things I've made so far this year. They tasted pretty good and actually tasted like tacos. They didn't look as good as they tasted but the taste matters more than appearance. Keaton and I were eating the taco meat by itself because it tasted so good.

We made these tacos in a matter of 35 minutes. Our tacos tasted kinda bland to start off then, you suggested we add taco seasoning. When we made them it taste like we had too many onions. We still loved the tacos and it was great.

First Keaton and I gather the recipe for the tacos. Keaton then started cooking the hamburger when I was getting the ingredients. When the meat was done we added the seasonings and let it simmer. Once it simmered we stirred it until it was done. We then ate it, it tasted great.

Keaton and I are chefs now

We made mac and cheese and it tasted okay. It had way to much cheese and so it was hard to eat. I ate all of since Keaton can't eat and so I made more then I should have. I was proud that we actually made the food without burning it to all heck. I tried to make it less thick by adding milk but it was still extremely thick. Keaton and I are basically chefs at this point.

We had to add flour and butter together in a saucepan to make a mixture then add milk and cheese to make the thickness of the cheese. We let the noodles boil well we made the cheese but by the time the noodles were done the cheese started to harden. We had to reheat the cheese and make it liquidity again for our consumption. Keaton poured the cheese into the pan well looking at me very seductively shown in the pictures down below. We then stirred them together to form the perfect mac and cheese.

Keaton then explained to me that the perfect mac and cheese is where the cheese is half liquid half thick. We poured it all into one bowl and I proceeded to eat it all. I came back after lunch and ate all of the leftovers. In total, the mac and cheese was good but it could have been better. Keaton and I are still amazing chefs.

Cookies from hell

We made really had cookies. Together with Teran and I, we made hockey pucks. They were harder than a rock and tasted like crap. We make the worst food in the world and I don't understand why we are so bad at this. I try my best but can't succeed no matter what I do. I have always tried my best trust me but I just can't.

I ate one and my teeth almost fell out and I just about puked. Teran and I used way to much flour and so they were really dry. I also left the room and told Teran to take the cookies out and he didn't so they got very burned. They were almost black and looked like they had just gone through a really bad house fire and they were the only things to survive. I would have dunked that hockey puck in four gallons of milk for them to not taste like garbage.

The cookies themselves tasted like an anus and should have been fed to prison inmates. They should have been made differently and could have used a lot less of everything. We should have been more careful when reading the ingredients.

cup granulated sugar
cup packed brown sugar
cup butter or margarine, softened
teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4
cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
teaspoon baking soda
teaspoon salt
cup coarsely chopped nuts
package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

Julie and Julia

We watched about 40 minutes of the movie. So far it's been more kissing then cooking or baking. Julia is a chef I guess that cant cut onion. It was Julie's birthday and she made the food that I guess everyone liked. The movie is very boring and it sucks.

Julie had someone important coming over. She was making food and fell asleep so it burned. She remade the food the next day and made sure not to burn it. The famous person coming over decided not to as it was raining too much and the person was older. She had a lot of mental breakdowns well making food. Julia had to move out of Paris to a different part of France, she also is making a book that a publisher already loves.

Everything I know about Julia Child is that she was an American chef and became a French chef. She moved to France with her husband and took cooking lessons to become a French chef. She made many books and was a very successful chef. She was born August 15, 1912 and died August 13, 2004. She is known for bringing French Cuisine to American chefs.

Apple turnovers

We made apple turnovers today. They tasted great actually, they had some parts where they were hard but still amazing. I ate three of them and left Teran with one because I'm fat and they were good. They tasted liked the school's apple turnovers but they were bigger. It took us like 30 minutes to prepare and another 25 to bake. They weren't overcooked or undercooked they were basically perfect.

Teran and I made some sweet apple turnovers. I'm really proud of us as they turned out better than expected. We weren't there to eat them as soon as they came out of the over so we had to come in during win time and eat them.  I microwaved them for 30 seconds and they were warm and moist and great. They weren't very hard to make as it didn't have that many things to add.

  • medium apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2tablespoons butter
  • 1/2cup packed brown sugar
  • 1teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 teaspoon water)
